Student Advisers

The Student Advisers are based in Advice Solutions at Poplar. Appointments can be made at the Advice Solutions reception at the following times:

  • Monday - Thursday: 9.30am - 12pm or 2pm - 4pm
  • Drop in sessions run from: 12pm-1pm

Students with emergency issues can drop in at any time to see an Adviser. (On Fridays Students need to contact reception first as adminisatration is carried out on Fridays.)

At our Poplar site we have Link Advisers from Connexions Tower Hamlets, our local Careers organisation. They offer independent careers advice and guidance to both students and prospective students. More information about Careers Advice at Tower Hamlets College »

Evening Advice Sessions (term time only)

We hold regular evening advice sessions at our various sites throughout the Borough (see below for site specific details). You can have an informal chat with course tutors about courses of interest and find out more about support available to students. Our course advisers will also be on hand to help you identify and explore the opportunities on offer at the College.

Advice Sessions at Arbour Square Site

Held every Wednesday for the following subject areas, call the Advice Line on 020 7510 7777.

  • Teacher Training for ESOL, Literacy and Numeracy teachers (every Tuesday 4pm – 5pm bookable in advance on 020 7510 7560/7777)
  • Access to Higher Education - Advice sessions for 2010 run every Wednesday during term time from March to July at 4.00pm or 5.00pm (except Creative Arts which is held every Tuesday at Poplar). You will have a chance to find out more about our Access and Pathways courses, and will then be asked to complete English and Maths assessments. You are advised to allow two hours for your assessment. If you have childcare responsibilities, please make alternative arrangements as we are unable to provide childcare facilities during this time.
