What happens when you apply?

Fill in the application form. This does not commit you to choosing this College.

If you are still at school:

If you have not already applied, hand both pages of your application form to Tower Hamlets College staff if we visit your school around March, or email or post it to us or apply online and we will arrange an interview.

Interviews:

You will then be interviewed and by this time, you should have a good idea of the sort of courses you want to do. Remember, there is still time to change your mind. Bring your Record of Achievement to your interview, if you have one. We will discuss your achievements so far and your plans for the future, so make sure you ask any questions you have.

After Interview:

Following your interview, you will be made an offer of a place. This will usually be conditional on your grades but if you already meet the entry requirements we can make you an unconditional offer. Don’t worry if you don’t know what grades you’re going to get. We will base our offer on estimated grades and we realise that these may turn out differently.

If you are taking GCSEs:

After the GCSE exams, you may be invited to a ‘taster’ day at College in July where you can experience what it is like to study the particular subjects you have chosen.

After you receive your results:

GCSE results are out! You will receive an appointment to enrol at College. If your results are not what you expected, you can discuss this with us and we can advise you about alternatives.

September:

Your course starts now. After a two week induction, you may have the
opportunity to change course if you feel you didn’t make the right
choice.
