The term "commercial graphics" relates to the industry use of graphic design. This is the practice whereby images and words are combined in an artistic way to convey ideas and messages. Common uses of commercial graphics include magazines, advertisements, product packaging and web design.

The Commercial Graphics & Digital Illustration course explores both traditional and digital techniques and builds upon the most current design practices. The course enables learners to build a professional portfolio of illustrative and graphic design work in order to progress to higher education or full time employment.

On this course you will be trained by industry professionals, Apple Certified Trainers and lecturers.

To achieve this you will be working with industry standard software ranging from Adobe Creative Suite CS3, Autodesk Maya 9, Apple Final Cut Pro 2 and After Effects CS3.

Skills covered include: contextual studies, drawing skills, idea development, development of storyboards, 2d digital Illustration and layout (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign), 3d digital Illustration (Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya), 3d modelling (Autodesk Maya), digital compositing (Apple Final Cut Studio 2, After Effects.)

Full Time 9:30am - 5:30pm
Entry Requirements: 
19+ by 1st September in the year of entry. A qualification at level 2 and/or a strong portfolio or showreel of creative work which demonstrates a commitment to continued study in your chosen area. An awareness of contemporary practice in your area of interest and an ability to discuss this at interview.
