Access courses are for adults who want to study at University but do not yet have the required qualifications. To be successful on the course you need to be prepared for one year of intensive study, including a lot of private study as well as your time in College. In addition to English, Maths and Study Skills you will take modules in Human Biology, Sociology and Social Policy, Psychology and Health Studies. Previous students have progressed to degree and diploma courses in Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and many other health related degrees.
Days and Times:
Full time: 4 days/week 9.30-3.30. Part Time: Mon and Weds 5.00-9.00
Who this course is for:
Adults over 19 wishing to progress to study further study in health related fields
Entry Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of English and Maths assessments. Paid or unpaid experience of caring for people. An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of health professionals.
Where this course might take me:
Health related degree courses at a range of HE institutions. We have a progression agreement with City University for their Adult Nursing degree.
