How will this course be of benefit to me?
The Pre Apprenticeship in Design for the Creative Industries is a new and exciting qualification that can give you:

  • real experience of employment,
  • invaluable access to industry networking and
  • a recognised qualification to boot.

What will I learn on the Pre Apprenticeship in Design for the Creative Industries course?

On this course you will make creative work by investigating various design specialisms within the creative and media industries including: graphic design, digital photography, animation and product design.

The creative and media industries are continually evolving and prospective employees will need to have an understanding of both technical skills along side creative ability to gain any chance of finding work. Furthermore, employers will look for work-ready individuals who have good literacy, numeracy and strong IT skills as well as a  good understanding of teamwork and leadership.  This course can help you get a grounding in all the skills you will need to be work-ready.

The course is run as if you worked within a design team. The course has a managing director. He sets creative briefs for teams of students. Each term you will be expected to work on actual design briefs for real clients. You will be expected to work to deadline and your designs will need to be to a professional standard. Of course we can help you with this.

If you are interested in computer graphics and graphic design, or find yourself wanting to create trailers and websites then you may be the ideal candidate.
