AS/A Level Law
At AS you will study key aspects of the English Legal System; the way in which laws are made through legislation (Acts of Parliament), doctrine of precedent, European law, sentencing, disputes resolved by the courts, the role and work of the legal profession (barristers and solicitors) and judiciary.
At A2 you will study the following modules - Criminal Law and Criminal Law Special paper, which includes murder, manslaughter, intoxication, insanity, duress of threat and circumstance, offences against a person and property.
The course is taught using mini lecturers, role-play, discussions, presentations and research activities.
Law encourages a broad range of learning skills. You need to apply your knowledge of the law to actual situations in a thoughtful, critical and articulate way. Law can be combined with A Levels in Government & Politics, English Language and Literature, History, Sociology, Psychology and Economics.
