The BTEC Extended Diploma in Business is designed to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge and understanding required for a range of roles in organisations within the business sector including administration, finance/accounts, marketing, management, human resources and law. The qualifications also provides solid academic skills should you wish to progress to Higher Education. Students are able to progress to BTEC Higher Nationals or undergraduate degree qualifications and professional occupations in the business world.

Students will be able to choose from the following specialist pathways:
• E-Business
• Finance
• Human resources
• Marketing
This qualification is not an exam based course. Students will focus on real-life case studies. You will be assessed through
role plays, presentations, work experience, written coursework and open book exams.

Compulsory units:
- Exploring business activity,
- Investigating business resources,
- Introduction to marketing,
- Effective people, communication and information

Optional units include:
- Introduction to accounting,
- Exploring Creative Product Promotion,
- Investigating recruitment and selection,
- Investigating International Trade,
- Understanding Business Ethics,
- Investigating E-Business

Entry Requirements: 
5 GCSEs at grade C or above or BTEC first Diploma at Merit or Distinction grade.
Where this course might take me: 
This qualification will prepare you for a choice of careers in the business and finance sector or even self employment. Many students progress to university to study a wide range of courses.
