- Unit 1: Numeracy and the Learners
- Unit 2: Developing Numeracy knowledge and Understanding
- Unit 3: Numeracy Learning and Teaching - this unit comprises 75 hours of adult numeracy teaching, 4 hours of which are assessed.
- Additional sessions will include observations of teaching and attendance of lectures which support the programme.
Accreditation of prior learning may be possible for people who hold a degree in Maths. The course team will discuss individually on application. Delivery of the Maths content will explicitly encourage participants to discuss and reflect about Maths and their own learning. The course is designed to make links between their own experiences and the personal and social factors affecting learning.

For adult numeracy teachers who wish to gain a professional qualification in numeracy teaching.
Entry Requirements:
A Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent, at least 2 years teaching experience, including some adult numeracy, good personal maths and communication skills, the commitment to undertake a continuing professional development programme. You must also be currently teaching adult numeracy at 2 different levels, eg Entry 1 and Level 2 and have the ability to produce written assignments at Level 5.
