(CiDA) 21st century qualifications for a digital generation - Equivalent to 2 GCSEs
What is CIDA?
Inspiring and challenging - CiDA promotes creative use of digital applications. Its real-life, outcome-driven approach inspires and challenges learners to demonstrate what they know and are able to do in authentic contexts.
Modern and future-proofed - CiDA is a modern, world-class suite of qualifications that is designed to equip you with the skills you need to live, learn and earn in the 21st century.
Creative and collaborative - CiDA enables you to make the leap from passive consumers to active producers of quality digital content. It develops your ability to organise yourself and your work and encourages you to reflect critically on your own and others’ use of ICT.
How is it assessed?
There are no formal written examinations. Learners complete a project for each unit and showcase their achievements in an e-portfolio.
With CIDA, you can:
• produce detailed, up-front design documentation
• collect, create and prepare different types of digital assets – audio, video, animation, still images, movies and text – for use in multimedia products
• carry out different types of testing – for functionality, for usability, for accuracy, for impact - and obtain and use feedback from others as an integral part of the development process
• use multimedia assets to showcase your achievements in an e-portfolio
• evaluate the effectiveness of multimedia products you produce and assess the contribution of underpinning processes, such as planning and design, to your success.  As well as developing new ICT skills you will be studying English and Math as part of your course.
