If you are interested in Art and Design but are unsure of the study areas or career options available this course may help you to decide. Perhaps you enjoyed art and making things at school but have never had the opportunity to develop your interest. This course also can help you advance your skills if you have any previous experience in Art and Design.

What will I learn on the Art, Craft & Design course?
On this course you will learn and develop new skills in both traditional and digital techniques, improve written and oral communication skills alongside professional studio practice. You will complete a series of projects across several subject areas designed to give you a thorough grounding in art and design and to increase your general visual skills. Much of the course is studio or workshop-based and you will study core units in drawing and painting, 2D design, 3D design, sculpture and computer graphics. Gallery visits and contextual studies will complement practical coursework and help to broaden and deepen your theoretical knowledge.

By responding to set projects, you will able develop ideas and creativity to enable you to build up a portfolio of artwork. Through this process you will be able to discover and explore areas that are of special interest to you such as painting, graphic design or 3D product design. Then you will be in a strong position to make an informed choice as to your next step in relation to further study or a possible career.

Will I get feedback about my work?
Assessment is continuous, with plenty of feedback from teachers to help you complete the assignments. The atmosphere we build upon is creative, encouraging and above, all enjoyable and rewarding.
