If you would like to develop your communication, social and pre-work skills and take part in running a business, you may choose to do the Introduction to Skills for Work course. You will probably be aged between 16 and 20 and may have needed some extra support at school. At the beginning of the course we will talk to you about what you want to achieve at college so that we can plan with you what you need to work on.
 
Your course will include:

  • Enterprise (running a business)
  • Communication (reading, speaking and listening)
  • Vocational Tasters
  • Personal development
  • Confidence building / speaking up for yourself
  • Maths for life
  • Work skills
  • • ICT

You will learn through class work, visits, practical sessions and running a business in College. Tutorial support and other support is available. The course is four-and-a-half days a week.

Entry Requirements: 
You do not need to have any qualifications to do this course. You will need to have a College interview so that we make sure it is the right course for you. You can arrange an interview or talk to someone about the course by contacting the Vocational Options Administrator on 020 7510 7614.
Where this course might take me: 
After the course you may progress to another course in the College, or you may start training or supported work.
