Level 2 Certificate in Play Work
You will study two core units:
- Playwork Practice
- Health & Safety in a Play Setting
The Certificate will enable you to develop confidence and competence working with children and young people aged 4 – 16 years; give you an understanding of play and playwork; and give you important information on the legal regulations that frame your work.
This is a practical, work-related course. You will learn through role-plays, case studies, activities, projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. Teaching methods and materials will be varied in order to support different learning styles and preferences. Lessons will be planned to be inclusive, demonstrate respect for all and celebrate diversity. You will receive regular feedback on your progress from the tutor throughout the course.
There are 2 written assignments. Each assignment is assessed and graded, and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. The assignments will involve a mixture of tasks including producing leaflets, posters, presentations, and written reports.
