Our level 2 Progression Diploma courses are for adults aged 19 or over, and are a preparation for level 3 study or for employment. All courses have a strong focus on developing English and Maths skills, and all students are expected to take national literacy and numeracy tests as well as completing a portfolio. For the Progression Diploma in Youth, Community and Social Work you will take academic and vocational units that develop your thinking and analytical skills as well as learning about different theories that underpin professional practice. Voluntary work experience is an essential part of the course, and you will keep a reflective log of this, as well as taking part in group activities and building up a portfolio of assignments.

3 days per week 9.30-3.30
Who this course is for: 
Adults aged 19 or over who are thinking of pursuing a career in youth, community or social work. Many adults who have been away from studying for some time and are considering progression to university start by taking a level 2 progression diploma in order to develop confidence in their Maths, English and study skills.
Where this course might take me: 
Access to Youth and Community Work, Access to Social Work, Access to Social Science and Humanities, other level 3 courses such as NVQ3 in Youth Work, employment in the fields of youth and community work.
