The Fresh Futures in Financial Services project and Employment Solutions has successfully worked with a wide range of city and Canary Wharf companies to offer various opportunities to our clients.

Recruitment opportunities can be linked to work experience as companies can get to know people over the course of a placement and then feel more confident about offering employment.

Placements can take various forms including a short intensive period of time as part of an employer led recruitment initiative through to a lengthier internship in order to build experience and skills.

These opportunities can often be given to us at short notice and fluctuate throughout the year however every placement or period of work experience is accompanied by some intensive employability training in addition to a competitive interview held by employment solutions. This really is a fantastic way to become familiar with a particular environment, gain some experience and in some cases possibly secure temporary or permanent employment.

Work experience and placements are excellent ways of getting your foot in the door within the financial sector, through these openings many people have successfully applied for jobs with city companies, having gained relevant experience elsewhere. Jobs can also be gained by showing that you have acquired transferable skills in a different environment that would be appropriate to a particular role.
