Cross the Bridge into the world of Finance

The Financial Services Skills Academy is part of Tower Hamlets College. At our state of the art premises close to Canary Wharf many local people have successfully completed courses and are currently working with businesses including Citi, KPMG, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, RBS and many more.  We are now offering the following courses this term:
 

• Award for Introduction to Securities and Investment (CISI) evening and day courses -  This is an industry-recognised qualification.  Graduates are particularly welcome.  This qualification will broaden your knowledge of the financial services industry, enable a first step into the sector or improve your promotion prospects within the sector.  Elements include equities, bonds, derivatives, investment funds, investment products, taxation and financial regulations and environment. (£525/£550)
• Financial Regulation (CISI) - The Unit provides a more detailed understanding of financial regulation and the regulations and legislation that underpin the financial markets and the conduct of investment business. (£499)
• Certificate in Financial Administration and Planning (IFS) - This new IFS course provides a broad understanding of products, services, regulation and legislation if the financial advice industry (£650)
• Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (IFS) - This qualification covers three modules that develop students’ knowledge and understanding of UK financial regulation, mortgages policy and practice and how to apply this as effective mortgage advice to the consumer. We offer the first module UK financial regulation. (£575)
• Award in First Line Management (ILM) - A recognised qualification for those new to line management and wishing to develop their skills and career prospects (£375)
• IT Skills for the Financial Services sector (BCS) - The Financial Services sector requires individuals working at all levels to have good IT skills.  This course will improve your competence in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. (£30 concessions/£375)
• Open University Foundation Degree Financial Services This highly affordable modular course will provide a broad understanding of the knowledge and skills you will need to progress your career in the financial services industry.
