Arturo Suarez Bangerter’s decision to pop into his local employment advice centre one Tuesday morning gave him the opportunity to get the job he wanted. Our Advice Team are based at Tower Hamlets College, Poplar, offering a complete employment support package including job search, guidance with interview techniques and CV building. Employment advisor Afshan Habib, spent one-to-one time with Arturo to ensure that he was completely job ready, giving him the confidence to deal with the gruelling interview that was to follow at Guy’s & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.
The support he received from our Advice Team helped Arturo to deal positively with a lengthy selection process, enabling him to achieve his career goal when Guy’s Hospital confirmed the job offer therefore appointing Arturo to Housekeeping Assistant. Furthermore, encouraging him to develop his career, Arturo was encouraged by his adviser to enrol on the NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, he is now set to successfully finish this qualification in September 2009.
Arturo sums up his positive experience with great enthusiasm, ‘since arriving from Spain at the beginning of this year, I have been actively looking for work. I want to say a special thank you for all the assistance and encouragement I have received. Not only do I have the job I want, but I have attained new skills through my NVQ, enabling me to develop my career opportunities further into Social Care. I am now forever grateful to the THC Advice Team, thank you.”
