Teaching Courses

Our PDC has well-qualified and friendly staff who aim to make your learning experience both enjoyable and productive. Our teacher training programmes lead to LLUK approved qualifications (see below for explanation of LLUK) and our high success rate ensures that our learners progress on to employment or higher education.

We offer a range of training courses for all teachers and aspiring teachers in the lifelong learning (post-16) sector, as well as courses for specialist Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL tutors.

How do I apply?

To request an application pack for any teacher training courses please contact our Advice Team on 020 7510 7777 or email advice@tower.ac.uk

You can also attend one of our advice sessions at Arbour Square to get more information and help in choosing a course.

What are the LLUK standards?

National standards for all teachers who work in further and adult education have now been provided by LLUK, Lifelong Learning UK.

Fully qualified teacher status for the post-16 sector will be awarded to teachers when they achieve a Level 5 (university level) LLUK approved qualification such as a PGCE or Certificate in Education.

Teachers of adult literacy, numeracy or ESOL are also required to have a specialist Level 5 qualification in their subject.

Tower Hamlets College offers introductory and more advanced courses and training.
