They do this by supporting students to help them attend their classes and achieve the best that they can on their courses. They do this by:
The Tutorial Support Team works with students on a one to one basis according to their individual needs. Parents/carers and students are welcome to phone any of the Tutorial Support Team to discuss their progress. All Tutorial Support Workers are bilingual. The Tutorial Support Team liaises with parents/carers by phone, in meetings and at parents' evenings so that parents/carers are informed and can support their young people during their time at college. If assignments are late or below the standards expected, Tutorial Support Workers may use a Homework/Assignment Contract to monitor progress. Students may also be supported with additional workshops to help them to complete work. If a student is absent too often, the Tutorial Support Team will contact the student's parent/carer and inform his/her tutor. If the attendance falls bellow the college expectation, an Attendance Contract may be issued to help improve attendance. |
