Tower Hamlets College students cut through the competition in Wella Professional Hairdressing Competition
Two students from Tower Hamlets College were this week celebrating beating off the competition to make it through to the regional heats of the prestigious Wella Professional Xposure competition.
Xposure is designed to celebrate up and coming hairdressing talent in colleges and training providers throughout the UK and invites students to create a commercial cut and colour.
The two students, Raminta Petuchovaite, 28, from Ruislip and Hailey Miller, 30, from Poplar, who are both studying Hairdressing at Tower Hamlets College saw off competition in the national photographic heat and made it through to the Southern Regional Heat, where, on 17th April they will travel to Southampton to recreate their look.
From the regional heats, the best 20 students will then compete at a grand final at the Wella World Studio in London.
Raminta, whose entry, an asymmetrical bob inspired by fire and passion, said “this style was inspired by the geometric cuts made famous by Vidal Sassoon.”
Hailey’s successful entry was of a geometric, concave style and showcased shimmering and slicing of intensive magma colours, creating a striking effect.
Tutor Deborah Du Barry commented “I’m over the moon that two entries from the college have made it through. It really highlights the fantastic quality of work and skills shown by the students. They are an inspiration to others and we wish them the very best of luck in Southampton.”
