Tower Hamlets College Students work on Prestigious Awards Ceremony Design Project
Students from the Creative Arts department at Tower Hamlets College this week completed an exciting project that sees their work distributed at a prestigious awards ceremony at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London.
The students, all studying Creative Arts Access courses at the college were given a live brief to work on for the Swan Foundation, a charitable organisation that works with businesses and partners in East London to maximise employability and community participation in a variety of projects. The Swan Foundation, who were selected as charity partner for the Housing Innovation Awards tasked the students with producing a brochure to showcase the work of the organisation.
Cathrine Melby Fredriksen, one of the students involved in the design of the brochure said "This is a really good opportunity to work with a real client on a live brief, giving us a feel for the challenges that arise in the design process."
Pam Brown, Principal of Swan Foundation commented on the project: "I would encourage other organisations to support students in this way, not only because they have innovative ideas but because it’s an important method for organisations delivering CSR with real value."
